Voices
At the conclusion of every year we have a student essay contest. The first year (2007 – 2008) we asked the middle school students, “How did this program make science more sensible to you?” The past two years we asked the middle school students, “How has the resident scientist, working with your teacher, made science more sensible?” A winning essay is chosen from each particpating SMS schools. The winners received prizes and were asked to attend the Capstone Event with their families and read their winning essays.
